Before we start, it’s important to distinguish between tools and supplies. My Junk Journal tools are the durable, non-depleting items like scissors and paper trimmers, while my Junk Journal supplies are consumable items like glue and ink. Starting a junk journal doesn’t require expensive tools. Many essentials can already be found around your house. Here are the must-haves:
Once you’ve mastered the basics, you may want to explore tools that enhance your creative possibilities:
If you’re new to junk journaling, remember to start small. Many of the best junk journal tools for beginners are inexpensive and easily accessible. Most you likely already own.
Over time, as you grow into the craft, you can build a more extensive collection tailored to your style and the type of crafting you like to do.
Junk journaling is a beautiful way to repurpose everyday items into creative works of art and show off your creative expression without feeling the pressure of perfection. Remember…it is only paper!
Whether you’re just starting out or refining your craft, the right tools can make the process enjoyable and efficient but you can start with what you already have and grow from there.
Explore your options, experiment with what you have, and let your creativity shine. That is the most important thing.
